I appreciate all the tips. I was a pretty decent tank but this will definitely help with holding my aggro.
One thing I did have a problem with: the group leader. While I agree with you fully, 8/10 times you're gonna have people who either think they don't have to listen to you or just think they know better or some other idiotic reason. The main problem I have is people just being stubborn and not listening to me. I could have prevented many wipes if the other people would've just listened to me.

I am beast-tank. Here me roar.
VERY good guide for tanking at lvl 60, which I'm guessing is when this was written. Although a lot of the specific abilities mentioned are outdated (namely sunder, everyone uses devastate now) it's very good for it's time. The tank as the unofficial leader of the pack thing I wish they'd make completely official, because as a tank your ability to keep the enemies off everyone else is the key thing. And this is easiest to do when people do what you say. Anyways a few things I would add is that when engaging groups of more than five, the entire group should focus one one, including the tank, but tank should also use Thunderclap whenever it has cooled down to maintain easy aggro on the entire group of enemies. Also if a rogue caster or... Rogue rogue? Should choose to steal aggro off a certain enemy that's going to kill them, taunt must be ready to pull it off them while still maintaining supremacy on the rest of the group. As for damage mitigation, Thunderclap is a MUST because it slows down all close combat enemies attack speeds. The shield is also a must, because although in raids the enemies create enough damage that block does very little, in 5 man instances it can still nullify most or all damage. For this reason I believe Warriors are the best tanks. DON'T START WITH ME, I've yet to see a Druid or DK that can hold aggro as well as a warrior, although bear Druids are amazing at taking a beating. Paladins are also very good tanks, but I personally view warriors to be best because of our damage mitigation cycle. Being a prot warrior makes the mitigation easiest because of the Shockwave ability. You first grab a group and thunderclap them to get all their attention, then shield bash ur desired target to cement ur aggro hold on them. Then you manuever yourself so all enemies are close to directly in front of you, and smack em with shockwave, stunning them all for a brief time. Use this time to fire off another thunderclap and reassert aggro on any specific units you may have lost. When this times up they'll start hammering you again, so this is when you activate shield block, giving you 10 seconds of severly diminished damage. When shield block is up, you may choose to use shield wall for 12 seconds of damage reduced by 60%, but this ability is crucial for difficult fights so save it and take a beating if u can. Shockwave should have recharged so you can fire it off again to buy another pause. Use Thunderclap as often as you feel is safe, as it does a good job at holding enemies on you. This is a cycle manuever. This should all be repeated untill the fight is over, adjust it personally to suit the situation.

Thank you so much for posting this information. I am a new tank and learning slowly. I was haveing a lot of trouble with grabbing and holding innitial aggro ( some of that due to an overzelous druid ). I am used to being a lock so this is definitly going to be an interesting transition!
